The Lilu project in Iași, Romania, is a vibrant, fashionable Italian restaurant. The interior concept is inspired by the persona of Lilu — bold, free-spirited, and eccentric. The restaurant is envisioned as her imaginative apartment, where every corner tells unusual stories, captured in photographs adorning the walls.

The eclectic design blends whimsical luxury with a touch of playful charm. A leopard print, created exclusively for the upholstery in this project, feels futuristic and fresh, avoiding any literal interpretation. One of the project’s notable achievements was integrating the existing curved bar counter into the new design. It is now complemented by a glowing onyx wall and crowned with an Art Nouveau–style canopy.

Panoramic windows are adorned with elegant geometric elements, also in the Art Nouveau style. This not only enhances the building’s exterior appeal but also reinforces the restaurant’s character inside. The intricate floor geometry adds a sense of movement, while the statement wall — decorated with mirrors, foliage, and artwork — transforms the dining area into an atmospheric art space. An open kitchen plays a key role in the concept, filling the restaurant with life and engaging guests in the process of creating dishes.

Lush greenery, a rich palette of pink, green, and gold, and eclectic furniture come together in a bold, memorable composition. The designers drew inspiration from trendy luxury-colonial–style restaurants in Miami, but gave Lilu’s concept more audacity, color, and daring details. Lilu is not just a restaurant — it’s a stylish stage for vivid emotions and unforgettable moments.
